Suean Pascoe is an internationally recognised ultrasound educator and the Director of Zedu Ultrasound Training Solutions. With a career devoted to advancing practical skills development, she leads the creation and delivery of innovative, hands-on training programs that fast-track ultrasound skill acquisition and clinical confidence.

Driven by a fascination with how small changes can produce powerful outcomes—whether in image optimisation or communication—Suean continually pursues excellence in teaching and learning.

She is the creator of the GOOSE framework, a structured five-stage model for ultrasound education, and the TRUST (Train the Ultrasound Trainer) course, which empowers educators worldwide to teach more effectively. Her curiosity, clarity, and pragmatic approach have made her a sought-after international speaker and tutor, recognised with Fellowship of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine for her distinguished contribution to the field.

Suean’s programs emphasise deliberate practice, real-world patient models, and systematic scanning techniques that accelerate learning, strengthen performance, and build lasting clinical confidence.

Professor Gommers begon zijn carrière als onderzoeker bij de afdeling experimentele anesthesiologie, waar hij promotieonderzoek deed naar surfactanttherapie bij experimentele ARDS. Daarnaast was hij betrokken bij verschillende onderzoeksthema's, zoals xenon-anesthesie, exogene longsurfactant, vloeistofventilatie, hoogfrequente oscillatie beademing, ‘Open Long’ beademing in ARDS en elektrische impedantietomografie. (Co)auteur van ruim 250 medische publicaties in peer-reviewed internationale tijdschriften en begeleidde ruim 25 promovendi.

Professor Gommers is werkzaam als intensivist en afgelopen tien jaar is hij afdelingshoofd van de afdeling Intensive Care voor Volwassenen; een academische IC met 50 bedden waar zowel algemene als post-cardiale chirurgische patiënten worden behandeld. Deze IC is een expertisecentrum voor de behandeling van multitrauma, hersenbloedingen, ECMO en transplantatie (lever, long en hart). Tijdens de Covid-periode was hij voorzitter van de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Intensive Care (NVIC) en een van de leidende leden van het Outbreak Management Team (OMT) die de Nederlandse overheid adviseerde over COVID-19. Om tegemoet te komen aan de toenemende zorgvraag als gevolg van de vergrijzing is hoogleraar Gommers direct na de covid-periode gestart met een datagedreven IC-zorg met de implementatie van technische innovaties en AI. Dit alles met bijzondere aandacht voor het behoud van de arbeidsvreugde van de zorgprofessionals en empathische zorg voor onze patiënten.
